Jaune Quick-to-See Smith (born January 15, 1940) is an artist, curator, educator, and activist. Since the 1970s, Smith has been well-known for her abstract paintings and and lithographs that combine text and image. Kay WalkingStick (Cherokee) was born in 1935. An artist and professor of Art at Cornell University. She was the first Native American artist represented in the Metropolitan Museum of Fine Art's permanent collection and was included in Jansen's History of Art, fifth edition.
